Wasp Watch March 2014 – the year so far for wasp activity

Hurray!! A mild and drier than average March, and we can’t remember that last time we said that.

A good month for Queens to come out of hibernation and start their new colonies. You will see large and a bit drowsy wasps trying to get their bearings, looking for somewhere to start their nests, looking for good sources of food and building materials.

Be nice to them if you can, they’ve a big job ahead of them, and remember they will help keep your garden free of aphids, caterpillar and flies, and they’ll cross pollinate flowers and plants.

Britain needs wasps!
